Providing opportunity and serving the community are standards that have existed within the UBC since its organization in 1881. Today, Carpenter Local Unions carry on that tradition, forming partnerships with community-based organizations that provide training and work opportunities to area youth in Oakland, San Francisco, East Palo Alto, Fresno, Sacramento, and Santa Rosa.

We build communities, and in times of need our people and skills help the elderly, worthy charitable groups, and others who may need assistance in tough times. We have helped rebuild communities following storms, earthquakes and other disasters, and we consistently demonstrate economic support, contributing to community groups, organizations and events that contribute positively to their community's overall health and well-being.
